The King Edward VI School is a mixed comprehensive, founded in 1552 by the granting of a charter from the then King.
Over the 450 years since its foundation, the school has survived several moves, ending at its current location. The school currently occupies a beautiful site of woods and fields to the north of Morpeth, the county town of Northumberland.
In 2003 the school became one of the first Leading Edge Schools in the country. Likewise, in December 2004, the school was once again one of the first Specialist Schools to be awarded joint Arts and Technology status. We pride ourselves on excellent exam results at all levels and our enrichment activities.
Prospective parents and students are invited to visit the school at any time.
Please contact our Deputy Headteachers, Mrs. Reeman (for Year 9 to Year 11) or Mr. Wilkinson (for Year 12 & 13).
We hope you find our web-site both useful and informative. If you have any problems or need any information which you are unable to source from our site, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
