Student Voice Activities




Year 10 & 11 Student Researchers from The King Edward VI School Morpeth, at a Student Research Conference at All Saints Community College. Students are discussing plans for their research project for 2006-07 entitled “What Effect do Minimum Target Grades have on Students?”.
The King Edward VI School Student Researchers conduct some research into other schools at The Student Research Conference at All Saints Community College: ‘What do you like about your school? What could be improved?’

KEVI Cirkus Clowns, a school society led by Year 13 student George Dowswell (right). They train students every week in circus skills. Students applied for a grant themselves and received £600 to purchase new equipment, including ‘glow in the dark’ equipment, which has now led to the foundation of their fantastic ‘Ultraviolet Show’. KEVI Cirkus Clowns were recently invited to perform for Prince Charles and Camilla during their visit to Rothbury. The KEVI Cirkus Clowns can now be hired for functions!

Year 12 students involved in Student Voice activities: (far left) Rachel Henderson who leads the The King Edward VI Debating Society & Lit Café (centre) Hannah McKellar who is also involved in the Debating Society, Lit Café, a member of the Student Voice News Team who produces a collaborative newsletter with students from Chantry, Newminster & Rothbury Middle Schools filled with news on student voice activities in all schools, and she will leading assemblies for all year groups in the school on the subject of World Poverty after attendance at a recent world poverty debate at The Sage Gateshead with personalities such as Bob Geldof KBE, The Right Honourable Gordon Brown MP and His Excellency Benjamin William Mkapa, ex President of Tanzania, (far right) Holly Rowell, who is also involved in the Debating Society.
