Course Outline

At A level we follow the OCR Art & Design Photography course, the structure being similar to Graphics, with all the course content being ICT-based.   There are three areas of study: Impressionist Streets, Still Life and Portraiture. The exam is given out in January of each year and has 8 weeks preparation leading to a 5 hour final session in Y12 and a 15 hour session in Y13. Assessment is by moderation.

All coursework at both levels is photography-driven, with ‘resource gathering’ trips every two weeks to a photo-shooting location. Students are expected to build up a portfolio of photographic images to reinforce the coursework content.
