Outstanding Exam Results
Once again KEVI students worked tremendously hard for their A level and GCSE exams and received their just rewards with fantastic results this year.
The A level results were the best in the history of the school with 58% of grades at A* - B. This is a 4 % increase on the previous high score in 2009. 10% of grades were awarded A*, which is above the national average. This is the first year that the A* grade has been awarded. The average points score of 885 per student was the school’s highest ever, beating last year’s record of 845.
Of the 204 entrants - again our largest cohort ever, 180 applied to a wide range of universities and happily almost all have achieved places. 5 students are off to study at Oxford or Cambridge. Best wishes and good luck to all of our former students as they embark upon the next stage of their education or venture into the world of work.
A further set of outstanding results was achieved at GCSE this year with a record 88% of students achieving 5 or more passes at A* - C grade. Twenty nine students achieved a full set of all A* - A grades with many more achieving top grades across a full range of subjects. 73% of students achieved 5 A* - C grades or more including English and Maths. This is a superb achievement and will be amongst the very best school results nationally. The vast majority of this cohort will rejoin the school in the Sixth Form shortly and we wish every success to all students whatever pathway they follow from now.
We also thank parents and carers for encouraging and supporting their children during their time at school.
