Expressive & Performing Arts

‘If you do not have performing and visual arts, you do not have a complete community’

This Department, which includes dance and drama, is expanding within the school and seeks to develop the performance skills of all our students. Courses challenge our students to be creative, collaborative, and evaluative in their work.

Year 9
Students cover a variety of topics generated by Citizenship. This is delivered using the art forms of dance and drama.

Years 10 & 11 (GCSE)
Students are able to opt for a GCSE in Drama, Dance or Expressive Arts (involves two art forms)

Year 12/13 (A LEVEL)
A Level Performance Studies (Dance, Drama & Music)

Our Department is highly respected and supported within the school and plays an important role in its extra-curricular life. Students are encouraged to join one of the many clubs on offer which we are sure will enrich their time at KEVI.

Regular theatre visits and workshops are arranged throughout the school year and there are also major musical and drama productions involving all year groups. Recent productions have included Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, Grease, Little Shop Of Horrors, West Side Story, Teechers (Godber), Our Day Out (Russell) A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Comedy Evening, Fame, Twelfth Night, Habeas Corpus and many more!!
