Health & Social Care
Health and Social Care is now an established vocational subject at both KS4 (GCSE) and KS5 (AS and A2). Additionally, the Department offers a BTEC course to students at KS4.
All subjects offered by the Department provide students with learning and career pathways into Health Care, Social Care and Early Years. We are proud of the external agency links that have been developed. These provide relevant and diverse learning opportunities, work experience as well as additional qualifications to support students entering the world of employment or further education.
Partnership work with Northumberland Early Years and Children’s Services and STEPS into Healthcare are two current examples to support the above.
The specific qualifications taught by this Department currently include:
- BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Children’s Care Learning and Development.
- Edexcel GCSE Health and Social Care (Single Award)
- Edexcel GCE AS Health and Social Care
- Edexcel GCE A2 Health and Social Care
